For families with children and/or pregnant women: all placements for shelter are made through the state Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) – mentioned above. Family shelter placements are handled at the state-level. People may also walk-in to DTA for assistance.
If you are a family with children under 21 or a pregnant person in need of emergency shelter, the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities has homeless coordinators who may be able to help you and your family if you are eligible. You can apply for emergency assistance over the phone or in person. 866-584-0653
